Conventional intelligent systems rely on complex computational pipelines involving sequential perception, processing, and actuation. While effective, these approaches impose significant demands on sensing hardware, computational resources, and energy consumption.
Physical Intelligence represents a fundamentally different paradigm. Rather than processing information through digital computation, this approach directly leverages physical laws and material properties to achieve intelligent behaviors. The result is a dramatic reduction in system complexity and response latency.
By encoding decision-making capabilities into the physical substrate itself, these systems can interact with their environment in real time, without the overhead associated with traditional computation. This principle opens new possibilities for the development of Embodied Intelligence, where adaptive, energy-efficient, and robust behaviors emerge naturally from the interplay between physical form and function.
